PROJECT: The Victory Apartments, 167 Union St, Oldham

Following client obtained Planning Approval for 2No. ground floor retail units, 32 No. contemporary apartments; comprising 1 & 2 bed apartments to floors 2-6 and luxury penthouses with balconies to the upper floors, Jenkins Design Services was instructed to provide technical constructional detailing to satisfy Building Control and for site construction.

Stringent planning conditions were overcome by working amendments in effective design solutions such as: triple glazing & robust ventilation attenuation to abate strenuous acoustic requirements, ground source heat pumps in maintaining 10% renewable energy, along with flexible details to alleviate movement tolerances of the timber framed structure and glazed block façade to upper floor areas, etc.

This mixed-use development was an innovation being the first of its type within Oldham town centre , inspiring further developments within the vicinity.
