PROJECT: Role of CDM Co-ordinator for the refurbishment of the Academy

Jenkins Design Services Ltd has a team of experienced professionals who undertake the role of CDM Co-ordinator under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007.

Jenkins Design Services Ltd were appointed as CDM Co-ordinator for a £1 million refurbishment of the Academy, Manchester's legendary music venue, by the University of Manchester Students Union.

The project included an 11 meter high multi coloured glazed tower at the building entrance, remodelled bars, a new viewing area for guests requiring assistance and a refurbished changing block and remodelled stage. Environmental saving measures include a grey water recycling system.

In addition to our CDM Co-ordinator duties, we were also appointed to assist in contractor selection and monthly site inspections which enabled us to build a positive relationship with the design team and principal contractor.
